Coogan Farm

If you are in Mystic, visit the Gallup Orchard at Coogan Farm.

Located on the land homesteaded in 1654 by Captain John Gallup Jr., Hannah Lake and their descendants, the Gallup Orchard has heirloom apple and pear trees that are being reclaimed.

The Gallup Family Heirloom Orchard at Coogan Farm has born fruit, apples and pears.  The pears have been harvested and fermented to create Perry.  The DPNC has hosted a Perry Party this Spring to celebrate this harvest and bring attention to the Orchard.  In addition, all of the vines have been cleared out of the trees, they have been labeled and the cider maker has given direction on winter pruning and care to encourage another harvest this Summer.  Celebrate this harvest from ancient trees grown by our ancestors in the Gallup Orchard.
