The Gallup Family Association, Inc. was originated in 1902 to protect, maintain, and improve the Gallup Burying Ground on Gallup Hill Road, in Ledyard, Connecticut.

The patriarch of the American Gallup Family is Captain John Gallop. In 1630, he sailed into Boston on the ship “Mary and John”.
Gallop was a coastal mariner in the development of trade between the Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island colonies.
